Tandem rowing

It’s not an Olympic sport, but it’s entertaining. First, we each tried our hand at rowing the usual way. Angela’s quite good–she rowed in college. (The first two photos are courtesy of John.)

Then John and Zach had the brilliant idea to row together. Aren’t they precious?

When we bumped into each other, we decided to latch our boats together.

Zach and John probably expected us to help row or at least be easy cargo. They didn’t expect Angela to dig her oars into the water and stop the boats. It was slow going until they figured out what was going on. In the interim, I snapped my favorite picture from the trip.

This all happened on the Serpentine (lake) in London, where the swimming bit of the Olympic triathlons will be held later this summer.
