It’s Guy Fawkes Day! That means fireworks in England. Usually I’m not a big fan of fireworks, but I didn’t let that stop me from joining the throngs of people gathering at Cambridge’s Midsummer Common to celebrate the failure of the Gunpowder Plot. And, yes, actually, a few people nearby did start singing Katy Perry’s “Firework.”

There was also a huge bonfire and a fair, and we saw Z’s dream food vendor.
After all this fun, we ate at a wonderful restaurant called Café Rouge–we’ll probably take some of our visitors there. My favorite part was dessert (duh), but everything was good. Now we’re both updating our blogs (find Z’s here), a fitting end to a national holiday.
