“Baby, you’re a firework”

It’s Guy Fawkes Day! That means fireworks in England. Usually I’m not a big fan of fireworks, but I didn’t let that stop me from joining the throngs of people gathering at Cambridge’s Midsummer Common to celebrate the failure of the Gunpowder Plot. And, yes, actually, a few people nearby did start singing Katy Perry’s “Firework.”

Here’s a sample of the show:

There was also a huge bonfire and a fair, and we saw Z’s dream food vendor.

After all this fun, we ate at a wonderful restaurant called CafĂ© Rouge–we’ll probably take some of our visitors there. My favorite part was dessert (duh), but everything was good. Now we’re both updating our blogs (find Z’s here), a fitting end to a national holiday.
